2016–Present NVIDIA Inc., Santa Clara, USA – System Validation Engineer

  • Board/System level debug and validation of NVIDIA's GPU server-based products (DGX-1/V, DGX-2/H, DGX A100/Station, RTX Blade Server). 

  • Drive validation issues to closure using resources within the engineering team including hardware/software engineering.

  • The key contributor to final validation qualification report required for documentation purposes.

  • Help maintain a high level of quality for validation engineering to support successful new product ramps.

  • Contribute to the development of new validation procedures.

  • Participate in system bring-up & validation of new systems with the objective of driving product to mass production.

  • Provide guidance on design and methodology for future products based on learnings found in the lab.

  • Develop and maintain Shell Scripts that automate server system reliability testing, performance testing, and stress testing.

  • Validate server BMC functionalities: overall server health and component health monitoring, server event logs, alerts, remote management features, thermal profiles, out-of-band system firmware flashing, etc.

 

2013–2016 Super Micro Computer Inc., San Jose, USA – System Validation Engineer

  • High-Performance Computing (HPC) MPI Parallel Computing, Cluster Computing.

  • General-purpose computing on GPU performance testing with GPU Linpack.

  • CUDA and GPUDirect RDMA test for nVidia P100 Pascal GPU.

  • Vibration, Thermal Control test, hard drive, SSD, NVMe, benchmark.

  • Intel OMNI Path, Mellanox 10/25G Ethernet and FDR, EDR InfiniBand benchmarking 

  • Perform motherboard and server system comprehensive validation testing.

  • Conduct functional and compatibility testing on various OS such as Linux and Windows.

  • Collaborate with BIOS/HW designers when a new system brings up, design validation, troubleshooting, failure analysis, system performance, and actively participate in meetings to resolve the issues.

  • Report hardware and software quality assurance issues and bug tracking.

  • Duplicate customer issues and work with customers and product management to understand production use of the product and understand advanced functionality requirements.

  • Write scripts to perform automatic testing on hardware and software.  

 

 2007–2010 President Architecture Inc., Pingtung, Taiwan – Senior Computer Engineer

  • Designed and implemented a 3D virtual reality with V-Ray in 3ds Max and multi-computer rendering.

  • Designed the construction of a 2D plan in AutoCAD.

  • Website designing with Flash and Dreamweaver.

  • Monitored system environment setup and implemented remote monitoring and management.

 

2005–2007 ASUS Computer Inc., Taipei, Taiwan –Quality Assurance Engineer

  • WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) testing on Motherboard, Notebook, and Server.

  • Bug analysis and debugging with BIOS engineer and hardware engineer.

  • CPU, RAM, and GPU performance tuning including overclocking ability with air-conditioner compressor.

  • Quality verification with DTM (Driver Test Manager) and WLK (Windows Logo Kit).

  • Validate compatibility, reliability, and performance.
